Job Description
Clinical Investigator / Research Scientist–Nutrition Essentials

Supplement Product Development – Buena Park, CA
Reporting to the Group Manager Essentials Group, this individual will work with a talented cross functional team whose work is focused on delivery of innovative formulations, in the nutrition essentials categories of the Nutrilite brand of products. This individual will be responsible for the oversight of clinical trials with new or enhanced general multivitamin and mineral products. This individual will develop study protocols, with an understanding of regulatory requirements and clinical practices and will also do data analysis and interpretation and manuscript writing on the study findings. They will also manage the clinical trial by overseeing the progress of the study in various US and global locations. Additional responsibilities include the evaluation of new ingredients and technologies as well as leading collaborative claim substantiation effort. This individual will be involved in product claim development work, partnering with Marketing and will prepare education documentation on product benefits. They may also participate in expert speaking engagements that share the benefits of the Nutrilite brand of products with consumers around the world. Some global travel will be required, up to 20%.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency to…

·Lead clinical trial projects including site selection and qualification, writing study protocols, study execution, statistical analysis, data interpretation, and writing summary reports and manuscripts

·Participate in and lead cross functional technology development teams

·Deliver scientific findings to Product Development and Marketing to support the development of products that are uniquely differentiated and supported by appropriate scientific evidence.

·Work with contract research organizations and independent study sites to execute clinical studies offering detailed direction on testing to support accurate data

·Participate in public speaking engagements to influence product attributes and brand reputation

The accomplished individual will demonstrate progressive experiences in…

·Minimum 2 - 4 yrs. experience leading clinical studies in an industry setting

·Industry exposures to lead resource planning with contract researchorganizations[A1]

·Experience working with nutrition product claims substantiation

·Statistical and analytical background to review data and interpret findings

·Strong technical writing skills and ability to translate scientific outcomes into meaningful consumer-oriented language

·Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead teams and present ideas

An outstanding professional will have the following credentials…

·Advanced degree in a Bioscience, Nutrition or related science area and Ph.D. preferable

·ACRP (Association of Clinical Research Professionals) Certification or related Clinical Research certification

·RD (Registered Dietician) Certification helpful
