Job Summary: Under moderate supervision, operate multiple-line PBX switchboard and general office equipment incidental to assignments; perform various duties related to the sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail to appropriate personnel or departments; and performs related duties as assigned Reports to: Communications Supervisor Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:Answer telephone switchboard through the operation of switchboard equipment;Receive and route telephone calls; greet and register visitors; maintain clean work area and lobby; operate facsimile equipmentrecord department supplies update telephone book library and personnel listing;sort and disburse incoming mail, deliver to correct departments, and process outgoing mail;document equipment repairs and schedule servicing of mail cart as needed; order and distribute office supplies; sales order and data review using syteline ERP softwareassist other departments as needed with sorting , filing, computer projects QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES: Any combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following: Experience/Training/Education:Equivalent to high school graduation; some experience and training in the operation of telephone switchboard and communications equipment, and the proper etiquette for receiving, screening and transferring telephone calls. Ability to learn and follow postal regulations and procedures, provide courier services and operate a postage machine. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to rapidly and accurately receive and transfer telephone calls and refer persons and visitors to appropriate company representatives; ability to type at a net rate of 40 words per minute; basic knowledge of postal equipment operation and regulations; ability to operate a calculator;ability to operate a mail cart to deliver company mail;ability to alphabetize, sort and check logs and records for completeness and accuracy;basic knowledge of computer operation (MS Word, etc.);ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to organize and lay out work; ability to alphabetize, sort, and proofread assigned records. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and sit for up to 30 minutes at a time; able to walk to adjacent buildings to deliver mail; able to bend, lift and carry materials weighing 25 pounds or less; and ability to operate mail cart on company premises. Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Class C or Class 3 Driverand#39;s License
