Job Description

LinQuest is seeking an IA/Cyber Systems Engineer to support the mission of Cybersecurity. This person will provide subject matter expertise to the Air Force in various Cybersecurity areas, including the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform security assessments and compliance activities by using assessment tools and procedures and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

  • Consult headquarters-level decision makers on the technical implementation of solutions for promoting the sustainment of Cybersecurity across multiple technology areas.

  • Support the research of emerging technology, requisite security requirements, and emerging threats and develop a way forward to meet organizational goals.

  • Provide assessments of Air Force mission systems’ Cyber risks or architectures. Act as the primary or supporting author for Cybersecurity risk reports to highlight current architecture, mitigations, and Cybersecurity risk posture.

Required Skills

  • Working knowledge of DoD Information Assurance and Cybersecurity practices and procedures including DIACAP and Risk Management Framework (RMF).

  • Working knowledge of USAF and DoD policy and guidance including DoDI 8510.01, NIST SP 800-53, and CNSSI 1253

  • Writing skills to support the development of security-related documentation

  • Ability to perform review of systems architectures and connectivity, development of risk assessments and mitigations, and improvement of the overall system security posture

  • Experience with systems administration, including Windows and UNIX

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in IT and Cybersecurity practices

  • 2+ years of experience with information assurance and Cybersecurity engineering, including the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and related security controls

  • 2+ years of experience with systems engineering, including requirements analysis, architecture and design analysis, and network and system topologies

  • Experience in one of the key areas: Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI), networking, and system administration, including Microsoft, SCCM, WSUS, and HBSS

  • Bachelors degree in technical field such as math, computer science, electrical engineering, or similar
