VCA Inc. is seeking a Mobile Systems Engineer to join the IT Engineering team at our Support Office in West Los Angeles, California.

POSITION SUMMARY:

VCA Inc. is searching for a full-time Mobile Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of business critical WiFi infrastructure. Typical responsibilities for this engineer will include the design and management of the MDM environment, interfacing with the mobile apps team to coordinate new releases, bug fixes, etc., and architecting an ultra-reliable, WiFi network in each and every VCA hospital.A successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate proficiency with the design, implementation and support of 802.11x networks, Microsoft solutions, and exhibit strong project management and communication skills. This position will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support and manage WiFi in the hospitals. Ideally, you will be knowledgeable about 802.11x wave physics.

  • Help shoulder the travel burden for large and complex hospital conversions. Travel <10%.

  • Help develop DevOps/Automation/Orchestration tools to facilitate an agile IaC environment needed by agile in-house development team.

  • Design and implement Microsoft solutions and related technologies including Windows Server and Active Directory.

  • Deploy standardized technologies to new offices.

  • Create new technical solutions and improve existing infrastructure.

  • Manage infrastructure in multiple datacenters and over 850 hospitals/branch offices.

  • Participate in on-call rotation (rarely).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field from an accredited university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5 - 8 years of technical experience with increasing responsibility.

  • Experience using automation/orchestration/DevOps tools a plus.

  • Active Directory design, implementation and administration experience required.

  • Strong background in networking is required.

  • Server virtualization using Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware vSphere preferred.

  • The following certifications are a plus: CCNA, MCSE, MCITP.

  • Must have excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
