PR Associate, Corporate Communications

Job DescriptionLinkedIn is seeking a junior level PR professional for the role of PR Associate, Corporate Communications. This person will support the PR team in working on comprehensive, executable, and measurable PR campaigns that support the company’s business objectives. S/he must work well under deadlines and understand budget constraints. Candidate must be a self-starter who works well both independently and as part of a team. Natural affinity for online networking sites is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Managing LinkedIn’s press line / press@ linkedin.com email alias
* Confident, reactive and proactive media relations skills required, including on the record commentary and off the record context-setting
* Ability to program manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Preparing LinkedIn speakers, developing the employee speaking program, managing request to speak from employees and tracking employee speaking engagements
* Developing a master Q&A document about LinkedIn that employees can leverage as well as intro slides that employees can use in their decks/presentations and updating those materials as needed
* Developing briefing documents and drafting press releases as needed
* Regular consultancy on strategy and tactics from team and team leads
* Coordination with other LinkedIn PR and agency teams as needed
* Speeches, developing Q&A documents for announcements/launches and messaging for specific events and product launches
* Managing the LinkedIn Press Center and keeping it up-to-date http://Press.LinkedIn.com 
* Updating LinkedIn’s coverage board/brag board so employees are aware of recent news coverage/updating the LinkedIn Company Group with relevant media hits
* Developing coverage reports
* Monitors competition and their PR activities
* Keeping the team materials/folders organized and up-to-date
* Works on other PR projects, as assigned
Relevant Experience and Education:
* Strong understanding of business environment
* Some experience with media and industry analyst relations
* Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships
* Excellent writing, editing and verbal communications skills
* Strong research and analytical skills; ability monitor and analyze industry news and trends
* Possess understanding of PR planning and implementation process
* Strong project management and decision-making skills
* Self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision
* Manages confidentiality without exception; demonstrates outstanding judgment
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Detail oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
* Thrives in a fast-paced and unstructured, deadline-oriented environment
* B.S./B.A. in Broadcast Journalism/Communications/PR or English preferred
* 3-5 years of related PR/journalism experience Leadership Competencies
* Fantastic organizational skills and an ability to stay on top of multiple projects at once
* Possess a high degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality
* Exhibit good decision-making skills at all times
* Building and maintaining internal and external relationships is critical to this position
