          *
          Provides all required competencies for RT I and II plus passes competencies and regularly works in NICU or performs Advanced Pulmonary Function  Services.  Performs relief charge as part of regular duties. Responsible for full orientation of staff and students in at least 2 specialty areas, and/or validates competencies on at least 3 procedures per year.   Critical Care, NICU experience required, or willing to acquire within three months of hire.   Position may be filled by an RT II or RT III based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.  If filled by a RT II, must train for the NICU, Charge duties, within three (3) months of hire. This is an 8 & 12-hr shift mix position.  This is an 8 & 12-hr shift mix position.  Shift hours are 11:00 pm - 7:30 am and 7:00 pm - 7:30 am.

          AS degree in Respiratory Care from an approved Respiratory Care Progrram that is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.  Licensed by the State of California Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.  Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT) or Registered by the National Respiratory Care Board as a Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) and must continue to meet the RRT continuing education requirements.  Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) bi-annually.  Qualified to serve on the Rapid Response Team.
