Position Summary

As the Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance of company-wide standards in the areas of controls and automation. You will be an integral part of the team providing technical expertise to engineering, production, and maintenance teams across the company to deliver against key objectives of growth, revenue, product quality, and operational efficiencies. With your day to day support and technical guidance of operational and capital initiatives, we will exceed expectations in delivering against key objectives of growth, revenue, product quality, and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for industrial process controls infrastructure, automation systems, and efficiency improvements across the company.

  • Lead the development and implementation of company-wide specifications and ensure all aspects of engineering and/or maintenance projects meet established specifications and requirements.

  • Provide technical expertise, guidance and training to engineering project managers as well as production and maintenance teams across sites.

  • Partner with all site technical teams to insure synergies are developed and implemented to support business needs.

  • Collaborate with the IT organization and align on system platforms and communication requirements.

  • Interface with vendors and contractors ensuring controls specifications, requirements and infrastructures are incorporated from preliminary design through execution of projects.

  • Support the development of master plans, capital plans and budgets in partnership with the engineering and site teams as well as other key stakeholders.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to find losses and identify continuous improvement strategies driving cost reduction and operational efficiencies.

  • Collaborate with cross functional team and business stakeholders to manage project scope decisions, critical financial decisions, and change controls.

  • Support M&A business assessments and project activities, as needed.

  • Collaborate with engineering and cross functional colleagues on best practice application developing a culture of high performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, including 5+ years’ experience managing engineering and/or operations related projects in a CPG, Food and/or Beverage manufacturing environment

  • Expertise and knowledge in controls and automation platforms (Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc, Siemens, Idec, Mitsubishi, PLCs)

  • Experience planning and executing multi-million dollars, complex and multi-phase projects

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement specifications across multiple sites

  • Robust analytical and planning skills, as well as ability to prioritize work effectively

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills

  • Results oriented change agent

  • Problem solver
