Our client in the greater Sacramento area is looking for a Forecasting Analyst

The role deals primarily with forecasting & business intelligence to support the organization through: (1) developing the monthly demand forecast (and surrounding analysis to support conclusions); (2) supporting the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process; (3) driving the business forward via combining deep-analytics and knowledge of the Microsoft BI stack; and (4) consistently preforming quality control of data sources and reporting results.   • Utilizes years of forecasting and predictive modeling experience to assist in the development of the demand forecast for the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process-in particular by using statistical analysis to identify the key metrics to help bridge the gap between plan and forecast

  • Employs enterprise thinking to deploy forecasting across different businesses and markets

  • Assists in the adaptation and use of the Microsoft BI stack (primarily Power BI; however, could include information delivered via PowerPivot, DAX queries, and other vehicles)

  • Develops daily/weekly summaries, details, dashboard reports and management summaries, both reoccurring and ad-hoc, which present data findings in a professional, concise and readable format appropriate for content and audience


  • Minimum 4 years of business experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Forecasting or Predictive Modeling experience is required, knowledge of the Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA), Box/Jenkins modeling, Straight Line Regression Analysis, and/or Holt/Winters exponential smoothing methods are preferred

  • 2 years' experience in analytical positions (business analytics, statistical, forecasting/demand management, data science, etc.)

  • Advanced analytical skills and problem solving skills coupled with the ability to shift priorities as needed while still producing accurate and precise work especially by detecting and resolving discrepancies

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel is required (including but not limited to: advanced formulas, nested statements, trend analysis, advanced charting, data manipulation centered on date and time data, and PowerPivot)

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (including Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, & Word)

  • Accustomed to fast-paced environments with simultaneous, high-priority tasks

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, economics, statistics, or equivalent experience


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences, and feel at ease with executive management

  • Must be comfortable interacting and collaborating with C-level personnel, employing a "win-win" methodology to limit silo mentality from being common practice

  • Have strong confidence in work being produced, and comfortable with work being used for multi-million dollar decisions

  • Must be technically inquisitive/resourceful and possess the ability to absorb and retain large quantities of intricate data sets and filters

  • Experience preparing executive level reports and presentations, with the confidence and subject matter expertise to back up reports and presentations, knowing your reports/recommendations will have million dollar impacts
