Inpatient Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN)
Currently recruiting an Inpatient Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) in San Diego, California, to provide care for the families of active duty American heroes at Naval Medical Center San Diego. The Inpatient Pediatric RN will receive 208 hours of PTO per year and 10 paid federal holidays in addition to other attractive benefits. The Inpatient Pediatric RN will work six 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift every two weeks.
DUTIES OF THE INPATIENT PEDIATRIC REGISTERED NURSE (RN):
Perform a full range of RN duties in accordance with assignment, including: triage; patient assessment and monitoring; use of patient monitoring and treatment equipment; appropriate nursing care, procedures, and treatments; execution of physicians’ orders within the guidelines of standard nursing practice; documentation of patient care and observations; and patient education and emotional support.
Demonstrate competency to administer Intravenous Medications within established hospital policies and protocols.
Assess each patient and perform triage duties as assigned.
Formulate and carry out a goal directed plan of care which based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes and which is prioritized according to patient needs and available resources including time, personnel, equipment, and supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE INPATIENT PEDIATRIC REGISTERED NURSE (RN):
2 years of inpatient pediatric ward experience within the last 5 years
Current unrestricted license to practice as an RN from any state
BSN, ASN/ADN, or nursing diploma from NLNAC/CCNE accredited program
Eligible to receive a security clearance
