Summary

The Mgr, Marketing Business Development is responsible for proactively developing and executing client-specific business development marketing and product plans, strategies and programs that help solidify SHP’s market position and maximize opportunities to enhance client value and long term customer acquisition and retention. Additional responsibility includes effectively managing strategic projects as necessary.

Assumes ownership and responsibility for the development and tactical integration of business development marketing and product plans for specific clients. Working collaboratively with the product development and marketing teams, account managers, sales staff, employer customers, brokers, and affiliated medical groups and IPAs, maintains effective strategic partnerships, and shares best practices. Represents marketplace perspective and proactively brings related insights to product/business strategy. Identifies new growth opportunities, including products, segments, and target markets and manages development and implementation processes. Working with key business partners supports growing sales, revenue, and earnings. Participates as a key member of the strategic planning team, and assumes leadership of key marketing initiatives tied to successful strategic plan roll out.

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field

  • 8 years’ experience in managing marketing/sales functions in a health plan environment, including familiarity with strategic, creative and ROI processes

  • Must interact assertively and effectively with others to develop collaborative relationships internally and externally, leading cross-functional teams, when necessary

  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment

  • Must balance high-priority, long-term projects with short term goal, immediate deadlines

  • Solid creative thinking and problem solving skills

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Organized and skilled in project management
