Job Overview

QCT's Modem Firmware Integration group is responsible for the integration of physical layer modem technology modules and other common / shared firmware components into a single binary or library deliverable to be integrated into commercial target software. The team is responsible for managing the integration process, coordinating dependencies with other teams, developing tools to improve the process, and assisting with the verification of the deliverables.

The Modem FW integration group works with the following Modem technologies: CDMA2000,

1xEV-DO, WCDMA, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, TD-SCDMA Candidates will work with a team of modem firmware developers, modem system engineers, and the modem FW test team to integrate and release FW components via SCM process, further develop and maintain SCM methodology, and to design and develop testing frameworks to help improve quality of deliverables.

Typical job responsibilities include : working with FW development team on integration and release of modem firmware components, contributing to test plan formulation and execution, attending scrum meetings, generation of firmware quality metrics and delivery status, issue tracking and debug, branch maintenance and CR propagation, firmware execution profiling, SCM tools enhancements and support, general administration of release process / methodology, coordination with modem and device target teams. Candidate will also participate in the development, automation, and maintenance of regression / sanity / stability verification platform(s) as well as maintenance of physical layer test (PLT) software.

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum 6 months - 5 years of academic and/or professional experience in the following areas:

  • Integration

  • Scripting

  • Software programming in C/C+ Preferred Qualifications

Additional skills in the following areas are a plus:

  • Preferred MS degree

  • Mobile communications systems testing and integration, working knowledge of signals and systemS

  • Languages such as Perl/Python/TCL/Ruby

  • Testing for embedded systems

  • Release management tools

  • System Design

  • Experience with rapid prototyping

  • JTAG debuggers

Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Master's, Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
