This employment opportunity is with the Otolaryngology Division of Rady Children’s Specialists of San Diego, a medical practice foundation, formed through a partnership amongRady Children’s Hospital-San Diego, Children’s Specialists of San Diego and theUniversity of California, San Diego School of Medicine.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician. Functions dependently in a staff position, implementing the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, and researcher within a specialized area of patient care. Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed, pursuant to hospital needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current California Physician Assistant license
Completion of a Physician Assistant Program
Current CPR certification (Issued by American Heart Association provider)
Furnishing number, State of California (w/in 1 year of employment)
DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications (within one year of employment)
Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier) - must obtain within 6 months of employment
Certification: Physician Assistant, National Commission (w/in 1 year of employment)
Successfully completes the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
Successfully completes the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area
Bachelors or Master Degree of Science
Experience in specialty area as a Physician Assistant
Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills
Bilingual Skills desired
