Senior Manager/Director - Equity Compensation and Equity Accounting

Our client, a CPA firm, combining a dynamic growth-oriented culture of a startup with the stability of a 60-year company, seeks a Senior Manager/Director to join their Equity Management Solutions Group. This niche group specializes in all things equity compensation and equity accounting related and is a close-knit team within the larger CFO Advisory practice of 25+ individuals with diverse backgrounds including CPAs, CEPs, ASAs, and MBAs. Our client, works with private and public companies across a spectrum of thriving industries.

As a leader in the Equity Management Solutions team, you are tasked with helping to run the business including managing the operations, allocating projects and resources, and playing an integral role in quality control. Externally, you will work face-to-face with CFOs, controllers, and accounting managers at our clients with the opportunity to build long lasting client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects at a time and coordinating appropriate staff.

  • Manage client expectations and delivering high quality solutions on-time within scope and budget.

  • Contribute to the development of new processes and procedures for service delivery, including development of templates, documentation of best practices, training/contributing to the knowledge base of the team, etc.

  • Leverage knowledge and expertise of equity instruments and accounting to meet the technical needs of clients and provide quality control to the team.

  • Draft/review technical accounting position papers that are clear, concise and accurate, referencing all applicable accounting research.

  • Effective translation and documentation of client requirements into financial statements and exhibits.

  • Interact with financial statement audit teams regarding technical positions, financial statement disclosures, and other significant project matters.

  • Assist with scoping, budgeting, and proposing on new client opportunities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years-experience, 5+ years-experience with technical accounting subjects.

  • CPA license highly valued.

  • Deep knowledge of share-based compensation accounting.

  • Ability to work directly with clients, analyze risk, and determine strong solutions.

  • Good facilitation techniques for determining client business requirements and directing client teams in completing tasks.

  • Strong client management, consulting, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Troubleshooting skills and superb analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

  • Knowledge of equity systems (Certent, Shareworks, Equity Edge Online) a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or accounting.

  • Position requires Bay Area travel.
