What You’ll Do
The Compensation Lead will consult senior executives in the AppDynamics (IoT, & Apps) organization. He/she will establish and drive their compensation strategy during the transition into full integration and manage the go forward strategy with innovative solutions ensuring the achievement of organizational objectives and reward strategy alignment. In addition to that, this person will design, manage, and monitor exceptional programs to be implemented during transition year(s) while establishing and overseeing the governance processes for transitional programs they will implement.
This role will require collaboration and strategy alignment with the broader Compensation team and Operations leaders along with tight partnership with HR at a variety of levels.
This position will apply knowledge of Cisco's business strategies and Compensation professional knowledge to proactively anticipate business needs and based on industry and market trends, will take the lead in developing appropriate compensation business solutions within the enterprise and functional frameworks, which will affect the success of Cisco's overall business operations. Some projects will include transformational design solutions for the organization globally. Additionally, the successful candidate will lead projects on global and regional cross-functional teams assembled to achieve key organizational priorities.
Who You Are
Role & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work independently but in conjunction and partnership with teams across multiple functions including Compensation, HR, Operations, Finance and IT to provide strategic direction and to generate plans for implementation within the organization in accordance with Cisco's organizational objectives. The focus of the role will be:
Design and implement compensation strategies with an emphasis on supporting complex business segments in potentially high growth areas within Cisco and functional strategies & framework. Strategies are global in nature and require alignment with the European, Emerging and Asia Pacific Regional Compensation and HR Leaders.
Provide compensation consulting to senior executives including competitive/market gap analysis by developing Excel models, retention strategies, developing within the enterprise framework, job offer review/approvals, salary conversions, conduct job analysis / market pay benchmarking, job matching / salary range development.
In partnership with Engineering Compensation Lead and Compensation Acquisition Integration Lead, consult on compensation issues & strategies related to acquisition integration for employees. Focus may include job mapping, retention strategies, compensation training, and integration alignment to Cisco strategies, programs and processes.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders, HR Partners, and the Americas HR Managers and serve as subject matter expert on all elements of Cisco's compensation design and total rewards strategy.
Partner with executives and stakeholders to design legally compliant programs that retain and motivate top talent and meet corporate, functional, and geographic objectives.
Deliver presentations to senior business leaders to educate and influence strategic and operational decision making.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required. Additional formal education (MBA, MS) and Compensation Certification is preferred.
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years progressive compensation experience with increasing levels of responsibility, identifying, consulting, designing, recommending and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to clients' compensation challenges.
In depth knowledge of base, bonus / incentive and stock plans design, strategies, and principles.
Understanding of current strategies and ability to implement new initiatives in response to or anticipation of changing business demands and marketplace trends.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
Experience working effectively with internal clients including senior executives.
Strong project management, organizational and technical skills.
Solid technical, quantitative and analytical / modeling abilities and skills.
A global and cross cultural perspective of business and compensation issues.
Proven ability to adapt and work effectively in a matrix organization with competing deadlines.
Experience analyzing and integrating compensation plans for newly acquired companies is preferred.
