Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

The Employee Health Coordinator performs clinical duties which includes health surveillance for employees, volunteers, contract, and medical staff such as administering Tuberculin Skin testing, performing fit testing, administering Hepatitis B, MMR, VZ, Tdap and flu shots. Maintains Excel database of employees’ health records and inputs health information in the Employee Health assigned software. Performs workers’ comp triage and provides first aid to injured employees. Assists in entering workers’ comp claims, tracking employee injuries and maintaining OSHA logs. Trains direct patient-care employees in the use of the safe patient handling equipment. Assist in projects of orientation, safety, staff development, health education and equipment training. The Employee Health Coordinator reports to both the Employee Health Nurse and the Workers’ Compensation Manager.

This is a half-time position (40 hours bi-weekly)

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

Must be an LVN with two years of college, preferably. Prior course background of anatomy and physiology required. One year of back office experience in medical setting preferred. Knowledge of basic anatomy, medical terminology. Working knowledge of various sports and activities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Must have a BLS certification (AHA-approved). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of patients or employees.
