Location: This role can be based in either San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or New York depending on what the candidate approved for hire chooses.
The Group Manager will partner closely with product marketing to drive the research and insights strategy and execution for the Consumer (free LinkedIn.com) and Premium teams. The ideal candidate will be both analytical and creative, has experience with behavioral data and will be collaborative and act like an owner who exemplifies Linkedin s culture and values. This position sits in the Market Research team within the broader Marketing organization that is responsible for driving understanding of LinkedIn s member and customer audiences. We re excited about research leaders who have people management experience, a strong results orientation and know how to create value in an agile, fast paced, high performing environment.
Be a thought partner to marketing, sales and product stakeholders to determine best approach to solve research needs effectively; Strong execution ability using combination of internal and/or external teams to best balance speed and effectiveness
Recruit, manage and develop a high performing team of approx. 2-3 market researchers and demand excellence of self and others. Execute with a sense of urgency
Own and drive company- wide NPS, product NPS/satisfaction and brand tracker studies; Analyze and effectively communicate key drivers to move NPS in partnership with key stakeholders across LinkedIn
Develop and execute audience research including member segmentation, ongoing segment tracking and member insights studies in-house and through vendors
Establish the foundational approach to concept testing, go-to-market, brand, awareness and translating findings into actionable insights
Work seamlessly with other insights organizations with User Experience Research, Research Operations, Business Analytics and GSO Insights
Expected to spend 40-50% of time being hands-on running individual projects alongside people management
Basic Qualifications :
8+ years of experience in market research (and/or other insights related) in consumer and/or enterprise internet business
5+ years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications :
3+ years of management consulting experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong project management skills and ability to work effectively with global stakeholders
Experience sourcing and managing internal and external research teams; strong negotiation skills
Proven track record for shaping product and marketing experiences with audience insights
Experience working with and querying behavioral data using SQL
Solid understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods and what method to apply to best answer the business objective
Proven success in survey design, tracking and measurement programs across the full spectrum of market research
Strong business acumen, collaborative skills, and experience communicating research in concise, understandable language
Experience with project management
Proven analytical/research skills
Technical and design knowledge for developing reports
Team player, collaborating and open to learning new, different methodologies and approaches to research
Ability to influence to help shape solutions and approaches among marketing and product teams to drive change and increase metrics
MBA or M.S. preferably in Market Research, Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics or relevant work experience
Experience in R or SPSS
