SociableLabs, provider of social shopping and sharing solutions, is looking for a Junior or Mid-level Web developer who will help us to bring our product offering to a completely new level.
Sociable Labs has an arsenal of applications that integrate seamlessly into clients' websites to provide an immersive social experience for site visitors. We pride ourselves on making much deeper use of the social graph (information users provide about themselves on Facebook) than our competitors. This allows us to provide users with a much more personalized and therefore compelling social experience. Translating from business-speak: we turn our customers' sites into mini-social networks where users can engage in conversations, recommend products to each other, invite their friends and acquaintances, and get rewarded for being loyal customers. So far, our application suite has been a win-win for both retailers and their customers helping former to increase their ROI and establish a visible social presence, and helping latter to make informed purchasing decisions and enjoy social online shopping experience.
SociableLabs was initially funded by fbFund with the last round funded by Battery Ventures, the VC company behind the vast array of successful IPOs and M&As (Akamai, Omniture, Angie's list, Groupon, BazaarVoice - just to name a few). We are not your usual "pre-IPO" startup - you'll still have plenty of time to accrue your shares and make a difference!
What can we offer you?
We can help you take your craft to the next level. If you are looking for an opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy your work - this might be the right fit for you. We have a very good mix of younger and older professionals with different backgrounds and expertise coming from well-known, world-class engineering organizations. We are keen on learning, mentoring, sharing our experience with new folks, and adopt the new technologies.
SociableLabs provides generous benefits, competitive salary, flexible work hours and PTO, and comfortable work/life balance. Trust us - you'll like it!
We are located in San Francisco on 6th and Bryant, couple of blocks away from the Caltrain station.
Who's our ideal candidate?
You, probably. If...
- you are proficient with CSS and know that sprite is not only for drinking!
- you know Java and OOP very well (but may not be a multi-threading expert)
- you know REST!
- you are familiar with GWT (added benefit)
- you have strong Computer Science fundamentals
- you like to approach engineering tasks from the product improvement standpoint
- you have a degree in computer science or similar field (with a decent GPA) or you are a very talented self-learner
Please send us your resume and cover letter if you found this description interesting. Cover letter is optional but if you do a good job describing why you are the best fit for this job, it can really speed up the interviewing/hiring process!
Please note: This is a full-time job. We are looking for local candidates (although we are willing to help with relocation if the match is ideal). We are NOT looking for inquiries from consulting or offshoring firms.
