Xilinx, Inc. Senior Systems Design Engineer in San Jose, California
Design, develop, modify and evaluate electronic parts, components and integrated circuitry for hardware systems and electrical engineering applications. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include: Define processes for system testing platforms, system specifications, and parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Enhance existing test hardware and software for system-level validation and verification of existing and new FPGA Features. Work with multiple teams to drive system-level bugs to resolution. Design, develop, implement, test, and verify PCIe related systems based on Xilinx FPGAs with embedded MicroBlaze or ARM processors. Provide feedback on architecture, use cases, IP design, tools, and documentation. Utilize solid understanding of FPGA and SoC building blocks and how they relate to the larger system. Apply advanced understanding of system functionality, hardware design, and software design to address implementation challenges and debug complex issues. Determine design approaches and parameters to build complete systems for emulation, verification, validation and benchmarking of new silicon features at a system level. Help to develop novel methods for system-level modeling and validation. Involved in the silicon life-cycle from testing of emulated next-generation RTL through to silicon verification and characterization. Review next-generation product specifications and develop novel methods for system-level modeling and verification.
- Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field.
- 6 years of progressive experience as Design Engineer, Hardware Developer or related occupation.
- Master’s or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field plus 4 years of progressive experience in position or related occupation.
- Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience / at least 1 year of project background / at least 1 year of internship experience in each of the following:
C and Verilog programming
Firmware or device driver programming
System use cases, determining requirements, and writing test specifications
Working in Linux environment
Design, develop, implement, test, and verify systems based on FPGAs
TCL, Python or Perl scripting skills.
Understands computer architecture, SOC architecture, cache coherency and PCIe
