Amgen Human Resources Senior Manager in Thousand Oaks, California

Amgen's Corporate Functions leaders play a critical role in developing and executing on evolving strategies to grow and expand Amgen's business. As direct reports to Amgen's CEO, these leaders rely on close partnerships with their strategic Human Resources (HR) business partners. This position is to support Amgen's Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Compliance and Business Ethics, and Senior Vice President of Business Development.

The Corporate Functions Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will report directly to one of Amgen's four HR Vice President and will develop solutions to a variety of complex HR challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Senior HRBP will use developed HR consulting skills to help their business clients achieve key business objectives and increase the effectiveness of their organization. They will coach clients on a variety of HR and business-related issues to effect change in the organization. Additional responsibilities include overseeing, in partnership with the relevant HR centers of expertise, leadership development, talent management, compensation strategies, engagement and retention, and ongoing organizational design/optimization efforts. In addition to developing and retaining top internal talent, the HRBP also will play an important role in partnering with Amgen's staffing organization to identify and attract top external talent to key leadership roles.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Human Resources experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of Human Resources experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Human Resources experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Human Resources experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Human Resources experience

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or Master's degree with emphasis in organizational development, management, human resources development, physical sciences.

Prior Biotechnology industry knowledge.

Previous HR/Rewards Management Consulting Experience.

8+ years of progressively complex/strategic HR experience, including organization effectiveness, staff relations, compensation, staff development and recruitment.

Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and develop strategic and practical solutions to tangible business challenges, sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to the field of Human Resources.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities, adapt to ever changing demands, and an intellectual curiosity and ability to understand the business.

Strong analytical, problem solving, consulting, and project management skills.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to interact with and influence all levels of management, and executives.

Ability to partner well with other HR and business functions.
