Position Description:

Position Summary:At AIG we are looking for candidates who have both the skills and passion to help us achieve excellence. In this highly visible position, located in Woodland Hills, CA, you will work on the Business Analysis and Financial Planning team within our service center operations group. As a Sr Business/Financial Analyst you will interact with senior management while developing and working on complex budget projects, moderate to complex forecasting, financial analysis and performance reporting. In this position you will:• Support the preparation of operating budgets for units or departments based on actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports and other factors. • Review expenditures of requisitioning departments to ensure conformance to budget. Conduct audits of expense accounts. • Maintain records of expenses, inventories, budget balances, and actual operating figures for comparison with estimated budget. • Assist in the installation of budgetary control systems. • Assist with unit costing and allocations to various lines of business, including reviewing, analyzing, and maintaining models.• Conducts moderate to complex forecasting, financial analysis and performance reporting. • Determines the best approach to analyzing and synthesizing data and makes recommendations regarding the use of key business metrics. • Prepares journal entries and reconciles accounts.• Reviews current tools used for management reporting, budgeting and forecasting and provides recommendations and solutions for improvement.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 2-5 years business related experience• P.C. Skills and knowledge including MS Windows applications• Advanced knowledge in Excel with developing complex reporting workbooks and macros and query building experience• MS Access • Query building in Cognos • Knowledge of budgeting principles and practices including budgeting/forecasting models• Strong analytical and problem solving skills• Strong communication and organization skills• Knowledge of the insurance industry a plus
