Overview of the Role:

The role of the Teen Community Engagement Coordinator is to support the Teen Program Manager by planning, coordinating, and implementing a diverse set of events and programs which will appeal to engage teens in the Jewish community. Experiences will include community service/service learning experiences, team building, and leadership development, as well as other various activities. All programs will be infused with concepts and reflection related to Jewish values, delivered in a way that is easily accessible to all participants.

What you’ll do: Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee all aspects of Teen Community Service programs and events

  • Develop and implement a robust calendar of short term and long term offerings designed to engage local unaffiliated teens in Jewish community

  • Research, form, and steward partnerships with relevant local organizations and individuals for the purpose of collaboration and recruitment

  • Infuse Jewish values into new and existing teen programs

  • Support Teen Program Manager in meeting grant objectives including development, implementation, and facilitation of grant funded projects

  • Participate in planned programs and recruit volunteers/staff as needed

  • Partner with other departments within the JCC to promote programs and collaborate on projects

  • Document events and programs taking high quality pictures and videos and sharing on social media and OFJCC website

  • Partner with marketing department to ensure promotional strategies are relevant and effective

  • Ensure programs are appropriately supplied, planned on time and within budget

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs, and make recommendations to Teen Program Manager towards programmatic improvement

  • Perform special projects and other related duties as required

  • Represent the OFJCC in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate Degree or Equivalent preferred

  • 1+ years of experience working with teens and or community service preferred

  • Extremely organized and detailed oriented

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate information clearly (written and oral)

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize a large workload

  • Ability and desire to work independently and as a team member with the community and other employees

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook

  • Strong knowledge of social media, specifically Facebook and Instagram, and an awareness of current social media trends

  • Ability to work nights and weekends when needed

  • Previous experience with Jewish culture and values, and the ability to facilitate relevant learning related to these
